International Fencing Club Malaysia

FENCING CLASS

First post in 2017, sorry for really longgg did not update. Today I am going to talk about fencing. Before going to the class, I actually know nothing about fencing. I do not know about the origin, posture, outfit, rules and competition. I believe most of Malaysian have the same mind with me, because it is still not a popular sport like badminton or football. I am a person who love to challenge new stuffs, so when the opportunity comes I would immediately hold it.

I found a fencing club named International Fencing Club Malaysia (IFCM) in Sri Petaling. There are very less fencing clubs in Malaysia and luckily I found one near to my house. After I reached the studio, the scene impressed me, because I have never seen fencing strips and equipment before, everything is new to me. Then, the Coach, Yu, gave me a smiley greet and confirmed my appointment. He was an ex-Olympic fencer and have more than 10 years experience. He taught me the different way of stretching, it works better than the normal stretch. After that, he started to explain three different fencing events, which are epee, foil and sabre. Fencing origin from France, so there are a lot of France words would be used on competition.

After explanation, Coach Yu started to teach me about posture. Posture is the most important in fencing, thus body has to be flexible. Basically, the different between epee, foil and sabre are the marks counting, sword and outfit. He taught me one by one professionally and patiently, thus i strongly recommend people to learn from here. The course fee is RM250 unlimited per month. If you want to give a try, they have short course too, you may purchase in Groupon for RM58 x 1 sparring session or RM78 x 3 sparring session. It is really worth! Do contact 012-376 5051 for more details.

Vintage Wedding Dress 1920-1970s

VINTAGE WEDDING DRESS 1920s-1970s

I think vintage is a trend now. The fashion is going back now. What I know about vintage before is floral patterns and youth. I see many small fashion stores in Malaysia are selling vintage style clothing and accessories. I think vintage wedding dress is very beautiful and classical. In 1920s, men usually wore vest and women's wedding dress was simple and classic. The photo below shows the wedding suits for men and
wedding dress in 1920s.

1920s

1930s

In 1930s, veil has become a trend. Most of the brides wore veil in their wedding. It has a big changed. The waistline returned to the natural position. It was the most obvious changing.

1940s

In 1940s, the retro red lips, hair accessories, updos, and simple dress are the characteristics of 1940s wedding dress.

1950s

In 1950s, the dress was exaggerated with floral patterns.

1960s

In 1960s, most of the women wore antique lace dresses. The wedding dresses changed from complicated to simple. The dresses became simple and simple from this era. The designers started to design simple and classical dresses. The wedding dress style has changed a lot. The length of the dress and veil were becoming shorter. Shoulder style dresses were the trend.

1970s

In 1970s, colour wedding dresses became the trend. It was not only purely white dresses.

I only focus from 1920s to 1970s because these years are the most changeable years. Wedding dress is always the most beautiful dress. I think it might have a magic. After women wear it, they will become the most beautiful woman.
