Acting Dream

ACTING DREAM

Have you ever dream to be an actor in childhood? I used to, and I believe most of the children have the same dream too. However, I did not have the opportunity to connect these kind of stuffs in my childhood. After I grow up, opportunity comes. The first opportunity that I have is to be reporter in a local drama called "Legal Eagles". Even though it is not an important character and does not require any acting skill, but I feel interested and satisfied. It lets me know how a drama to be shoot and also have the chance to meet the main actor, Felicia Chin. She is very nice. After this experience, I also have other opportunities to show up in online video, telemovie and short film. These experiences ignite my interest on acting.

Fortunately, I found a studio called Stage 69 Productions. They are having the first mandarin adult acting class and I have the opportunity to join too. After reached the studio, I saw some people have already reached and waiting for the class began. It started at 2pm and ended at 5pm. The teacher Apple asked me if I have pants, because the class required a lot of body movings and dress is not really convenient. Thus, they lended me their extra pants and the class started. First, Apple asked us the reason why we are there. Most of our answers were to learn acting skills, understand about acting and to experience new stuffs. After introducing ourselves, he started to teach us to stretch our body. He said as an actor, our body must be ready all the time. He taught about the posture, voicetune and imagination.

Come to the activities time, he separated us to three groups and gave us few tasks. In my group, he gave us a title 'Gossip In The Office' and wanted us to create characters by ourselves. It is actually fun. After that, Apple gave us another task again. He wanted us to suggest a place, character and incident. Thus, we got school, doctor and car accident. We needed to make a story and act. Everyone did well with their creative idea. Last, Apple gave us scripts and wanted us to act. In my group, we got four people. Two girls and two boys. The story is about four of us are going to adventure, and at the end, one of the girl murder all of us. We took thirty minutes to remember the script and find our way to act. It is actually challenging and fun. After all the groups done, we took a group picture before went back. It is really memorable and happy experience! The class costs RM200 per month, interested people can go to their open day on 22 January 2017. They are having a free trial on that day.

Wednesday Night Blues Dancing

BLUES DANCING

Do you have any idea about blues dance? When I first heard it, I was like huh? What it is? I only know it is one kind of musics, but I do not know it is also one kind of dances. It opened up my curiosity and I told me myself must try it!

Moment while people were dancing

In Sid's Pub, they are having blues dancing on every Wednesday. It is located at The Village, Bangsar South. It starts at 9pm and ends at 11.30pm every Wednesday. There has no entry fee, it means it is free. However, because of the pub lends the space for us to dance for free, so it is recommended to buy a drink to support them. When I reached Sib's Pub at 9pm, outside looked nothing different with a normal pub. However, after I entered the pub, there has an empty space for people dancing. That space is only for blues dancers. There has a short beginner class at 9pm, so do not worry if you do not know how to dance. After registered, the organizer taught us the basic steps first. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and outfit. After we catch up, we started to dance.

Light was getting darker, the empty space turned into dance floor and more people were coming. Blues dance is a partner dance, so it is easily to make friends too. One of the experienced dancers recommended me to dance with more different people, so that I can learn from everyone. I was shy at first, but not anymore after danced with few people. I danced with different people and learned their skills. Luckily, they were willing to share to me too. At 11.30pm, the music stopped and people started leaving. It is definitely the best plan for Wednesday night. I love the music and environment, so if I have time I would go and dance again, see you! ðŸ’ƒ

International Fencing Club Malaysia

FENCING CLASS

First post in 2017, sorry for really longgg did not update. Today I am going to talk about fencing. Before going to the class, I actually know nothing about fencing. I do not know about the origin, posture, outfit, rules and competition. I believe most of Malaysian have the same mind with me, because it is still not a popular sport like badminton or football. I am a person who love to challenge new stuffs, so when the opportunity comes I would immediately hold it.

I found a fencing club named International Fencing Club Malaysia (IFCM) in Sri Petaling. There are very less fencing clubs in Malaysia and luckily I found one near to my house. After I reached the studio, the scene impressed me, because I have never seen fencing strips and equipment before, everything is new to me. Then, the Coach, Yu, gave me a smiley greet and confirmed my appointment. He was an ex-Olympic fencer and have more than 10 years experience. He taught me the different way of stretching, it works better than the normal stretch. After that, he started to explain three different fencing events, which are epee, foil and sabre. Fencing origin from France, so there are a lot of France words would be used on competition.

Foil outfit

After explanation, Coach Yu started to teach me about posture. Posture is the most important in fencing, thus body has to be flexible. Basically, the different between epee, foil and sabre are the marks counting, sword and outfit. He taught me one by one professionally and patiently, thus i strongly recommend people to learn from here. The course fee is RM250 unlimited per month. If you want to give a try, they have short course too, you may purchase in Groupon for RM58 x 1 sparring session or RM78 x 3 sparring session. It is really worth! Do contact 012-376 5051 for more details.
